We spent a wonderfully bright and cold morning tubing at Glissades des Pays d’en Haut and then joined the party at Mont Saint Sauveur under the lights. We were fortunate to be there at the same time as the big “Les Beaux 4 Heures” fundraiser. This annual event raises money for programs to help people with traumatic head injuries. This year the 116 teams of four raised over $350,000 while skiing as many runs as possible from 6-10 pm. We were able to experience the music and party atmosphere while skiing the crisp snow under the stars and lights.
We met up with the Gendron Ski Travel team for a few runs and I was a little star struck to be skiing beside Jean-Luc Brassard (Olympic champion)! The highlight of the night was dropping down Cote 70 Ouest and trying to keep up with Jean-Luc in the moguls (while I stayed in the safety of the groomed run beside him). Wow it is one thing to see it on TV but another to watch it in action!!
It was quite cold but the mountain energy and wonderful skiing made for a magical evening.
