It’s getting close… Temperatures rose a little throughout the day, but not up to real spring skiing yet. Skies were quite on the gray side today.

Despite the not so bright skies, the “infamous” foggy cloud that we can sometimes see hanging on the top did not cover the Orford side summit. So no worries about fog or bad visibility up there.

There was a rain episode here too yesterday, but it did not leave too much damage, still plenty of snow here. Clearly, it might have stopped ski fans, however, as there was not a big crowd today. Surfaces were groomed all over the mountain and they were on the hard side after an overnight drop of the temperatures. More than ever it’s a good idea to have freshly tuned equipment and sharpened edges.

Getting ready for spring season here too There are many Maple products to enjoy, for those with a sweet tooth… or for the Cookie Monster in you !

Terrasse is all set up and ready, all we need are a few sun rays for a perfect day outside.

Lots of racing activity here at Mount Orford this week-end.  Still going on tomorrow, a U14 event with young champions from the Eastern Townships, and Ontario.

If the sight of those young racers makes you want to have a taste of the action, note that an open family race is taking place tomorrow, so you can experience the feeling of speedng through the gates. All funds will help support the Ski School.

Skies were slowly clearing in the afternoon with “shy” sunny breaks, we’ll take all we can get…

To end this week-end, get ready for more winter like temperatures as forecasts call for cloudy skies with a few flurries and a maximum of minus – 5 degrees celsius.  Patience, patience, sunyy days are around the corner !
