Ho, Ho Ho ! Santa was  apparently stuck somewhere around Lake Memphrémagog/Mansonville area, as he left us with a Boxing Day – New Year’s Eve surprise dump.. It seemed like it had been forever that I could barely see ski tips.

WARNING : The pictures you are about to see below are real and were taken “live” today”, not taken from previous years  😉 !!!

Close to 10 cm already on the ground this morning, it was indeed a nice surprise, since there was no sign of snow on the road to the hill, pretty much before you got there.

16 trails out of 50 are accessible, all of them were covered with the fresh stuff !

Not much to say about the conditions, just wonderful ! Base are a bit on the harder side, which was predictable with the cooler temperatures. But nothing to worry about, since we were gliding on the fresh P O W D E R … Yes, you read it right, there was some powder which made turns so much fun !

With temperatures around minus – 7 degrees, time to go full blast with the snow makng to add some more trails.

Time for a short pause, special mention to the soup, very tasty, as is often the case here at Owl’s Head.

Back on the slopes, snow is still coming down ! Actually, it snowed all day here. Well over 10 cm accumulated overall. We’ll take it ! People from the City, too shy to get out with the grass showing in the backyard missed a great day, with no waiting at the lifts.

Weather is calling for 1- 3 cm more overnight, and a very comfortable minus -4 as a maximum tomorrow with sun and clouds. Come enjoy the fresh snow that is here… at last !

You can also enjoy a Mimosa toast for the New Year tomorrow at 11: 00 am at the Mountain bar, and entertainment après-ski with a violonist playing traditional music.
