Sun Peaks at its Best! January 2023

I was working in Vancouver and had a few days off so I decided to go to the Kamloops area and check-out Sun Peaks.  I was in the mood for fast groomers and had heard great things about Sun Peaks Resort.

Sun Peaks is a short 45 minutes drive from downtown Kamloops.  There are also many great lodging options directly at the resort as well.  Sun Peaks benefits from a base elevation of 1,255m and a top elevation of 2,152m, which definitely contributes to the great snow conditions found at this resort.

With its 8 chairlifts there was almost no wait lines, which is always a big plus.  This resort caters to everyone with a really nice mix of runs:  68% for beginner to Intermediate and 32% in the expert diamond range.  The percentage of groomed runs is quite high, which makes this resort very appealing to most skiers looking for fast groomers.

Another nice feature is that there are often tree islands spread out through the runs which makes it that much more enjoyable, as the scenery is beautiful.

There are many pubs and eateries to choose from, all easily accessible from the main village chairs.  All in all, this was a very enjoyable 2-day getaway!
