Waking up Sunday morning to some gorgeous spring weather, we decided to go play outside. Being already close to the mountain, we choose to go explore Montagne Noir (892m) in Lanaudière. Access to the hill is free though having a ($20) membership with Club de Plein Air Saint-Donat is strongly recommended.

As we arrived in the parking lot on Chemin Régimbald, we realized we weren’t the only ones who wanted to enjoy the nice 5 degree weather. It was very busy yet the terrain is so big and diverse, we rarely encountered other people on the trails.

We skinned up the main pathway Inter-Centre which is not only for skiers but also shared with snowshoers as well as pedestrians.

Skinned up to Sentier du Lac Crystal, while we enjoyed the beautiful scenary. We stopped for quick bite to eat and then got to enjoy a nice run down. Even though it snowed 15cm the past week, lots of skiers had gone before us and many areas were all tracked out.  However, with another storm this week on it’s way, the conditions should be pretty nice again afterwards.

The bluebird day and great company made it a great day to simply enjoy the outdoors! Looking forward to exploring more terrain after the next storm …
