Whether you use the expression on their web page, or the one on the billboard at the entrance of the resort, there is something different about Owl’s Head.

Main attraction is the Memphrémagog Lake, for which you have different views on several trails. Add to that a cool and relax atmosphere, with little if no waiting at he lifts, at least it was the case today, a different and fun experience to be here.

Another trip to the “Lakeview” trail, view is quite more clear today, compared to my last visit. Lives up to its name.

Count for available trails is almost at 100 % (47 trails open out of 50).  I found out there was a bit of tricky weather in the past days, but, thankfully did not affect the conditions too much. Bases are firm, with granular groomed snow on the surfaces. You can fin some slick conditions and a few more icy patches in the more popular, most visited trails.

Here, the Lower Standard, a bit more slick, as it was quite “busy”.

Weather was really pleasant, as the temperature flirted around freezing mark (0 degrees celsius), on the cloudy side, but no effect on visibility. Very good Sunday skiing.

My “trail of the day”, this time, was a little more difficult, so I have to split Honours, “ex aequo”,  between the “Kamikaze” and its next door neighbour, the “Colorado”.

Kamikaze

Colorado

As it has been the case for several years, people from the “Fédération du ski adapté”, are always very present here. Good for people with physical limitations that have great equipment at their disposal to enjoy playing in the snow. Tip of the Hat to them, and the volunteers from the Federation.!

Temps will go down quite a bit overnight to reach around minus – 14 degrees for a minimum in the morning tomorrow, with a maximum of minus -1 expected, with cloudy skies, and, maybe a bit of sun. Make sure to get you equipment tuned and edges sharpened, if you feel like coming somewhere different!
