All about some Vitamin D treatment today ! Happy that I needed to put on some sunscreen, on this sunshine filled Sunday. A perfect day to go out, as temperature passed the 0 degrees celsius mark, to reach + 2 / + 3 in the afternoon, with the warmth of the rays on your face, quite pleasing.

As you see, Orford side was not much crowded, good to let go, and barely a few minutes waiting at the lifts. Just enough time to catch your breath.

Such beautiful skies cleared the way for great views of the sourrounding mountains and lakes in the area, and, little further away, we could see Jay Peak in Vermont (upper middle of the picture). Not often can we see it.

With the colder temperatures of the last days, bases have hardened, so skiing and riding conditions were on the faster side that called for sharp edges, on the 28 groomed trails available today. Keeping up with the tradition, todays recipient of the “Trail of the Day” goes to the “Maxi” on the Orford side.Well groomed, and challenging.

Time to relax the legs with a little trip on the Alfred Desrochers side, where you can also see part of the Giroux Nord side. Conditions were pleasant over there too.

Take note that for clientele’s safety, given the hard and icy terrain, the woods were closed today, as well as the uphill trails, also located in the woods. The fans of uphill could however use the portions of the “regular” trails specifically designated to go uphill with the skins.

For Big Air fans, the jumps available to test your skills, and they are still in great shape, with kickers and all.
